Vprašanje: Imam mačka starega leto in pol. Pred kakimi tremi meseci sem prvič opazila da ima okrog zadka rumena mala jajčeca zrnaste oblike. Šlo je za gliste, zato je dobil tablete Verpanyl 2x dnevno in se pozdravil. Čez 20 dni se je okužba pojavila ponovno in smo ga zopet zdravili. Jajčeca so izginila, vendar so se sedaj že tretjič spet pojavila. Stanovanje sem povsem počistila in posesala, da maček ne bi prišel ponovno v stik z izločenimi jajčeci, a izgleda, da tega ne morem preprečiti. Kaj naj storim? Naj grem zopet (tretjič) v lekarno po tablete ali je bolje, da tokrat obiščem veterinarja? Gre za hišnega mačka, ki ni cepljen.
Odgovor: Vaš muc ima po vsej verjetnosti trakuljo. Drobna rumena ‘jajčeca’ so namreč posušeni odrivki trakulje. Težavo lahko rešite tako, da mucku date kožni poliv, ki učinkuje tudi na trakuljo (Profender) ali mu date tablete Drontal cat. Oboje dobite pri vašem veterinarju. Tablete Verpanyl žal delujejo le proti nekaterim trakuljam, najpogostejše pasje in mačje trakulje (Dipylidium caninum) pa ne uničijo.
Poskrbeti morate tudi za zatiranje bolh, saj so bolhe pri trakulji vmesne gostiteljice. To pomeni, da se bo mačka znova okužila takoj, ko bo pojedla bolho, ki vsebuje razvito ličinko. Proti bolham svetujem Stronghold saj uniči tako odrasle bolhe kot tudi ličinke.
Razvojni krog trakulje poteka nekako takole: Ličinka bolhe poje jajčece trakulje (nahajajo se v rumenih odrivkih). Odrasla bolha na mački pije kri, kar mačko moti, zato se na mestu vboda grize in liže ter bolho poje. V črevesu se bolha prebavi, iz jajčeca pa se izvali trakulja, ki se pritrdi na črevesno steno in začne rasti ter oddajati odrivke, ki jih pojedo bolhe in tako se krog sklene.
Če živi maček v okolju z bolhami, se lahko ponovna infekcija zgodi že po dveh tednih.

Aha, hvala. Danes smo pri veterinarju kupili stronghold (ampulo), ki je baje za vse zajedavce. Je res tudi proti trakulji???

No, Stronghold je za bolhe, ušesne garje, črevesne gliste, srčno glisto, na trakuljo pa ne deluje. Za trakuljo pri mucah je najbolje uporabiti Drontal Cat ali Profender.

Koliko razmaka pa mora biti? (Če mo zdaj dam Stronghold, čez nekaj dni pa Profender oz. Drontal Cat) Pa kaj bolj priporočate? Profender ali Drontal Cat. Maček pa je mladič, star 3-4 mesece, mogoče več.

Tako Stronghold kot Profender se nanašata na kožo na vratu, zato je bolj priporočljivo, da bi tokrat mucku dala tablete, čez npr. 3-4 dni.
Stongholda dobi muc 1 amupulo glede na svojo težo, enkrat mesečno na vrat - tako visoko, da se ne more polizati.

lep pozdrav!
imam tezavo. na dom v blizini gozda v ljubljani (golovec), so nam prisle dve muci. prva pred nekaj meseci, ki je bila zdrava, lepo napreduje in je ze skoraj odrastla macka, drugi pa je mladic, pri nas je dober mesec, in je se vedno majhen. kljub priporocilom, ju se vedno nismo cepili, imamo pa to v planu. vceraj sem opazila glisto(dolgo belo in z modro zilo vzdolz) v mladicevem iztrebku, se zivo. isti dan pa smo nasli tudi bolho. prebrala sem vase tekste. v lekarni nimajo teh zdravil. prosim vas za nasvet, katera je dezurna veterinarska ordinacija, ker bi to rada cimprej uredila. imamo doma otroka in me skrbi, ali se lahko tudi ljudje okuzimo.
