V ponedeljek, 31.3.2008 je bil najden papagaj (skobčevka) belo-modre barve. Kdor ga pogreša, naj pokliče na 031-552-742. Papagaj se nahaja pri najditelju v Ljubljani, na Rudniku.

Prihaja april in z njim splošno cepljenje psov proti steklini, ki poteka organizirano tudi na terenu. Cepljenje psov izvajamo celo leto v naši ambulanti, enkrat letno pa (v Ljubljani) cepimo tudi na terenu. Urnik cepljenja najdete na strani Veterinarske postaje Ljubljana.
V letošnjem letu je potrebno še posebej opozoriti na ponovni pojav stekline v Sloveniji. Pojavila se je med lisicami, okužen je bil tudi že pes ter nekatere druge vrste domačih živali v obmejnih občinah s Hrvaško. Zato poskrbite, da bo vaš pes cepljen enkrat letno. Mladi psi morajo biti cepljeni takoj, ko dopolnijo štiri mesece starosti.
Osebno svetujem, da se odločite za cepljenje v ambulanti, saj je za psa gotovo prijetnejše. Če pa vam je lažje, se lahko udeležite tudi enega izmed cepljenj na terenu. V primeru, da se cepljenja ne morete udeležiti, vam naša postaja v času terenskega cepljenja omogoča tudi cepljenje na domu (velja za Ljubljano). V tem primeru pokličite na telefon 01 420 56 39 in se dogovorite z veterinarjem.

Steklina je virusna bolezen, ki povzroči vnetje možganov in hrbtenjače (povzročitelj je Rhabdovirus). Virus se nahaja v slini okužene živali, ki lahko bolezen prenese z ugrizom ali lizanjem. Okuži se lahko vsak sesalec (torej tudi človek). Najpogostejši prenašalci pa so lisice, psi in mačke.
Ko virus vdre v telo, najprej potuje po živcih v hrbtenjačo in v možgane, kjer se razmnožuje. Nato po živcih potuje do žlez slinavk in s tem v samo slino. Prenos okužbe s krvjo je sicer možen, vendar redek. Virus se začne izločati v slini malo pred nastopom kliničnih znakov (običajno manj kot 10 dni prej).

Vprašanje: Zanima me, če je možno da psička umre takoj naslednji po sterilizaciji zaradi težav s strjevanjem krvi? Moja psička namreč ni nikoli imela težav s kakršno koli boleznijo. Ko smo jo po sterilizaciji pripeljali domov pa je iz zašite rane krvavela. Naslednji dan je imela krvav urin in krvavo drisko. Peljali smo jo nazaj na kliniko, kjer so jo tudi obdržali, dali v anestezijo in še enkrat pregledali. Čez noč je ostala v hospitalu in ponoči umrla. Pred sterilizacijo je niso posebej pregledali, temveč so jo samo pogledali, kakšna je in kako se obnaša, posebnega pregleda pa niso opravili. Zanima me, zakaj je moja psička izkrvavela.

Od petka, 7.3.2008 je pogrešan mešanček nizke rasti, ki sliši na ime Tačko. Izgubil se je v okolici Dola pri Ljubljani. Star je leto in pol in je črne barve, spredaj pa ima belo liso z rjave dlake. Vprašanje: Imamo nemškega ovčarja (samca), ki je ta teden zbolel. Najprej ni hotel jesti in je gobček držal zaprt, nato je postajal vedno bolj nebogljen. V sredo smo ga odpeljali k veterinarju, ki mu je dal injekcijo proti zastrupitvi. Včeraj zjutraj se ni mogel postaviti na noge in smo ga zopet odpeljali k veterinarju, ki je izmeril temperaturo 40.5 stopinj celzija. Dal mu je infuzijo in antibiotike. Pes je cel dan in noč preležal, danes zjutraj pa je lulal kri. Vse skozi tudi bruha, čeprav že tri dni ni nič jedel, samo malo vode je popil. Pes še vedno leži, vstane le toliko, da gre lulat. Poleg tega se mu iz zaprtega gobčka malo cedi slina. Prosim vas za nasvet in pojasnilo.
Odgovor: Vašega psa čimprej odpeljite k veterinarju. Če stalno bruha vse kar zaužije, verjetno tudi žolč, ne jé in ne pije, ter (krvavo) lula, lahko pride do dehidracije. Žal niste povedali, za kakšen strup naj bi šlo. Glede na simptome sklepam, da bi lahko zaužil strup za podgane, ki povzroča povečano prepustnost krvnih žil ter krvavenje; v začetku v notranjosti telesa (v telesne votline, črevesje, mehur…), kasneje pa tudi pod kožo, v mišice ali iz zunanjih telesnih odprtin (krvavenje iz smrčka, rektuma ali naključnih ran). Lahko pa gre tudi za za strup, ki poškoduje ledvica (antifriz). Preberite si več o zastrupitvi s strupom za podgane.
